Text Box:  Preface about the port ......         The port lies on the banks of shatt Al_Arab river and is 135km to the north end of Arabian Gulf. the length of wharves is 2.5 km with a mooring for lighters of 500m length. The port contains 13jetties besides anchorage for lighters of anavarage area of4000m2 for each wharf,there are 45 electrical cranes and25 sheds and warehouses of various size
