Information concern the work of the main coast station (umm Qaser wireless station)

 

         Summary of the navigation available for use by the ships

         The navigation department has several services as follows:-

          * THE mooring of ships to discharge its cargo is in accordance with the cost station and the pilot station. The costal station     

             informs the ports authority of the arrival of the ship to the pilots station the discharge and loading department assigned a  

             berth for the ship.

          * After the necessary approval and the permission were given, a pilot will guide the ship. When the ship arrives at the  

            boarder of the port the guide ness of the ship is give to the harbor-master to lead the ship safely to the wharf .this operation

            is reversed when the harbor-master is unmoor the ship and with captain of the ship at the bridge the ship is delivered to the

            pilot after the permission is given for the ship to leave The piloted guide the ship out of port and some of the ship are taken 

            to the iner -anker.

               * The marine department some times does an escort operation using its own tugs.  

   * This department is involved with the rescue operations in accordance with the marine salvage department. The marine department also take the responsibility in insuring the safety of incoming ships according to the international rules for the safety of the ship and ports I-S-P-S. This is done in coordination with water police and the navy force.

   * The marine department gives assistance to the ships in case of injury or sick person in series condition .this is done by providing a fast boats or tugs.      

    The department is also responsible for taking and bringing the pilots for the incoming or departed ship in case they stay at the anchorage station waiting for the anchor. This done by the harbor master, the tugs, the attachment boats, rescue boat and the attachment gang under the supervision of marring navigation manger.  
 

1-   ships arrive at the Iraqi ports (umm Qaser – Khore AL-zuber) which within the responsibility of the station they arrive first at the pilot station near boya no(2) stationed at ( E 45 -48 /35-29N) where they put anchor until the Wright consent of the ports authority is given to enter the Iraqi ports .

2-   Before the ships arrive at the pilot station the ship is contacted and all the information concerning our work is taken and sent to the concern authority .

3-   The equipments used by the station is listed below.
